Dignified Health Solutions (DHS) was founded by Dr. Sonjia Kenya. Born in San Francisco, Dr. Kenya received her bachelor's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and then moved to New York City, where she earned two Masters Degrees and her Doctorate in Health from Columbia University. Dr. Kenya's academic mentor through graduate school founded and sustains Columbia University's Institute for Sexuality Research.
After a decade as a university professor and research scientist focused on sexual health problems, Dr. Kenya began counseling colleagues, patients, and students in their quest for sensually fulfilling, committed relationships. Astounded with the success of her initial clients, different companies began referring couples to Dr. Kenya as a way to overcome sexual problems.
Soon after, Dr. Kenya began helping couples going through divorce resolve their sexual issues and rekindle romance. Cindy Elwell, founder of Divorce with Dignity, understood that many couples wouldn't need a divorce if they improved intimate communication and utilized Dr. Kenya as a resource for couples willing to try to save their marriage.
Dr. Kenya relocated to the Cayman Islands when she was recruited by the local medical school to teach research methods. Shortly after relocating, Dr. Kenya began contributing a very popular sexual and relationship health column to the local newspaper. After two years as a medical professor and sexuality journalist in the Cayman Islands, Dr. Kenya started Dignified Health Solutions (DHS) to offer relationship and sexual health vacation packages to couples visiting the Cayman Islands. In addition to sexual health, DHS provides individual counseling, physical fitness programs, and corporate wellness solutions.
